TEACHING & COACHING
Initial Site Assessment & Report | $350
The essential first step for all new teaching clients.
This is a one-time onboarding session to evaluate the space and create a roadmap for instruction. The service includes an up to 1-hour on-site visit to assess a location for a new vegetable garden or review an existing space for food-growing education.
The assessment covers:
Environmental Factors: Sun exposure, soil health, and irrigation needs.
Logistics: Workflow, accessibility, and teaching setups.
Included: A comprehensive, individualized Follow-up Written Report featuring specific recommendations, technical specs for vegetable bed sizing and irrigation (if applicable), and a curated list of recommended tools and sources.
Onboarding Incentive: Clients who enroll in ongoing education within 14 days of receiving their report will receive an $80 credit toward their first two sessions.
Ongoing Education | $190 per 75-minute session
Twice monthly teaching sessions for all ages focused on seasonal tasks, practical skill-building, and ongoing vegetable garden care. With this consistency, it is possible to grow and maintain high quality vegetables with only occasional additional input between sessions.
One-Off Teaching Session | $250
90-minute focused session covering a specific topic, including planting, seedling work, garden maintenance, troubleshooting, or hands-on vegetable garden instruction.
GROW WORKSHOPS
In Home 90-minute session | $75 per person (minimum 4 participants)
Additional participants: $60 per person
Materials including high-quality soil, seedlings, seeds, growbag and supplies: $20 per person
These are hands-on garden workshop tailored for the participants, designed for celebrations, schools, families, and group learning. Participants construct a grow bag, plant seedlings, sow seeds, and learn practical plant care techniques through direct experience.
Suitable for ages 3 and up
TessaGrows Classes
Based in Los Angeles, TessaGrows offers one-on-one weekly or bi-monthly classes with families and children. We'll come to your location to evaluate and establish edible gardens in existing beds, new beds or in fabric growbags. We'll sow seeds, plant seedlings, tend, harvest, feast and compost. We'll observe the cycles and systems of nature revealed in your own back yard, and work toward becoming custodians of our environment.
