HONEY BEE

 

Honey bees are outstanding pollinators. They dart from flower to flower, drinking nectar, collecting pollen under their furry bodies and dropping it off at the next flower. This is how pollination happens and how we get our fruit.

 

How do I attract honey bees?

 

Offer honey bees nectar by planting mixed flowers among your vegetables. Bees will pollinate your food and flowers to create fruits so seeds will grow!

 

 

Factoids

 

In a single foraging trip, a honeybee will visit about one hundred flowers, and she (all worker bees are female) will make ten to fifteen trips in a day. That’s at least one thousand flowers a day!
